Festival City Walkabout for MS


Stalwart members of the Festival City Rotary Club MS Walkers, once again ventured out in the rugged terrain surrounding Lake Victoria in support of Multiple Sclerosis research on April 19th. Members of the intrepid crew were (L-R) Jennifer White, Jack White-Christman, Brad Braekevelt, Carolyn Dingman, Dianne Chisholm and Kent Chisholm. The team raised over $7,600 in the walkathon, with $700 from our club members.

I'd Rather Be Lucky Than Good

The Fearless Festival City Rotary Club Curlers displayed their skill and awesome daring at the 10th Annual Service Club Bonspiel at the Stratford Country Club on Saturday February 28th, 2009. Led by Skip Etienne "Missed it by that Much" Leushuis, Thomas "The Little Engine that Did" Leushius, Diane "The Hammer" Yundt, and David "I'd Rather be Lucky Than Good" Harvie, the team had 7 perfect scores of zero and won one end. Mrs. Etienne and the Club Standard formed the Cheerleading Squad. The Team did exceptional well at the Door Prize Draw, with David winning twice. Approximately $200 was raised for the Stratford General Hospital.

All You Can Eat Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser - 6 April 2009

The Rotary Club of Festival City Stratford and the Black Angus Restaurant located at 805 Downie Street present an "All You Can Eat Spaghetti Dinner" on Monday April 6, 2009. Proceeds from the dinner will go towards helping children attend school in El Salvador. 
Tickets are available from any Festival City Rotary Club members for $15.00 a seat.

Bill Gates Announces $255 Million Grant to Rotary to Fight Polio



The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation has awarded US$255 million to Rotary International in the global effort to eradicate polio, bringing the total committed by Rotary and the Gates Foundation to $555 million.
