Frank Iacobellis, a honourary member of the Festival City Rotary Club, passed away this weekend. Frank was a charter member and an active club member until his illness prevented his involvement. Club members are asked to post and share their memories of Frank on this blog. Frank was a model member who embodied the highest principles of Rotary International. He was a role model to everyone in the Club and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Frank was an intregal part of our Club in its early years. He spearheaded our Club's first attempt at a 'Signature Project' when he presented the plans for the 'Millenium Bridge' - to connect Tom Patterson Island to the north shore. Frank put a huge amount of energy and resources into a design and plan for funding the project. He then made an excellent presentation at a packed Council meeting. Although ultimately turned down by City Council, there was much praise given to the Club, thanks to Frank.
Frank was also the member who suggested that the Club establish its own Foundation account to be funded by retaining 10% of all non-designated fund raising monies. This was adopted and continues to fund our Foundation.
In the years since Frank could be an active member, he remained a strong supporter.
Frank was always helpful and friendly making all members welcome in the morning. He was a dynamic Entrepreneur and a very caring and loving person. He served his community through Rotary and his Church in countless ways.
Frank was a great guy who always supported the club's efforts even when he was not able to attend anymore due to illness. in recent years the Theatre Brunch was a success because Frank ensured that at least one third of the tickets we sold were purchased by his friends and family. He always liked to stay in touch with FCRC and wanted to continue getting the newsletter so he knew what we were doing. Frank's generosity and kindness will be missed.
